Installation of BOOK MANAGER (DOS Based) Software (Version 3, Release 1, Level 01 (03.01.01) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The main objective of the BOOK MANAGER is to provide a book cataloguing system. Before installing this computer software the self-expanding .exe must be down-loaded from the Apollo Technology (UK) web site as BM301.EXE. Then select BM301.EXE and double click, this will then unzip to a folder, which defaults to "C:\Books". 1. Installing the New Software The software installation of BOOK MANAGER 3.01 must be executed from a MS- DOS prompt. * For MS Windows 9x: This can be done in a number of different ways: 1. Start a MS-DOS Command prompt from the Windows Task Bar by selecting Start, then Programs, then MS-DOS Prompt; 2: In "C:\WINDOWS" double click the Dosprmpt icon; 3. Boot the PC. When the message "Starting Windows 9x.." appears press the F8 key to display the "Startup Menu" and choose "Command Prompt Only"; 4. From the Windows Task bar, click Start, then choose Shut Down, and then select Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode. When the MS-DOS prompt appears continue with the installation by running the BMSETUP program. For more details on installing the BOOK MANAGER software see Chapter 1 of the BOOK MANAGER User Guide. Existing users should also read the Guide to Upgrading (BMUpg) before upgrading! After the installation is complete ATUBM.COM, DISK1.000, PKUNZIP.EXE, BMSETUP.EXE and BOOKMAN.ZIP can be deleted, if so desired.
